Yes, you can use one account to look at results for each spouse. But a separate account for each person makes ongoing Part D comparisons much easier.
Why separate accounts are easier
HeyMOE keeps one person’s medication list in an account at a time. If both spouses use the same account, the saved list will reflect whichever person’s medications were entered most recently.
That matters when Medicare Open Enrollment arrives. HeyMOE uses the information saved in the account to prepare its Part D comparison. With separate accounts, each spouse can keep their own information ready for an individual comparison.
Our recommendation: Set up one HeyMOE account for each spouse, and enter that person’s own medications and other requested information in their account.
If you prefer to use one account
You can still compare plans for both people, but you will need to do the extra work each time you switch from one spouse to the other:
- Review the information currently saved in the account.
- Replace the medication list with the other spouse’s medications, checking the drug name, strength, quantity, and how often each prescription is filled.
- Check the other information used for the comparison, including the current Part D plan and pharmacy, and update it where needed.
- Run and review the comparison for that spouse.
Before relying on the results: Make sure the account shows the correct person’s information. Mixing one spouse’s medications with the other spouse’s plan or pharmacy could make the comparison less useful.
